Beauty in the broken

There is beauty to be found in the broken, but in order to see this beauty it must be in the presence of a light source. Whether it be the light of God, the light of a friendship, or the light of a loved one, that light will hit the broken pieces and create an original masterpiece. So many times we try to hide our broken pieces from God, our friends, and our loved ones because we are ashamed, scared, or just don't want to take the time. In doing this we are hiding the beauty of a flawed humanity. We are not perfect, so why do we try to be so or try to appear that way to those around us. As humans we are sterilizing ourselves from this beauty, hiding everything in the dark in hopes that the pieces will go away if we ignore them.
